The St. Augustine altar server ministry provides parishioners of all ages the opportunity to serve the Lord on His altar. Duties include conducting altar server training, preparing quarterly schedules/rosters, sending reminders to those serving each week and recording altar server attendance. The parish also designates a priest to guide the ministry heads and assist with training. The altar server ministry consists of children and several adults. A three-session training class is conducted periodically during the year to cover the servers' duties before, during and after Mass and to provide the necessary understanding and reinforcement of the many altar server responsibilities during the Mass.
