Recipes for Bread and Roses

Meatloaf

5 lbs. lean ground beef 3/4 C chopped onion
3 C tomato juice 3/4 tsp. pepper
2 1/4 C Quaker oats 3 eggs

 

  1. Preheat oven to 350.  Lightly grease two loaf pans.

  2. Combine all ingredients.  Mix well.

  3. Shape into loaves and place into prepared pans.

  4. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until done.

  5. Let cool.  Do NOT slice.  Wrap in foil or leave in disposable pans.

 

Macaroni Salad

1 lb. elbow macaroni 1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 C mayonnaise 1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 C white vinegar 1 1/2 C sliced celery
2 T prepared mustard 1 1/2 C chopped green pepper
2 T sugar 1/2 C chopped onion

 

  1. Cook elbow macaroni according to package directions.  Drain and rinse with cold water to cool.
  2. In a large bowl mix together remaining ingredients.
  3. Stir in macaroni. 
  4. Cover and refrigerate.
  5. Bring salad in disposable bowl or aluminum container.
